The bill clarifies that any elector who is 17 years of age, has preregistered to vote, and will be 18 years of age on the date of the next general election may vote at any caucus, assembly, or convention, even though the elector has been affiliated with the political party less than 22 days. The bill changes the period that a candidate for precinct committee person must have been a resident of the precinct from 30 days to 22 days before the caucus. Additionally, the bill changes the period during which the candidate must have been affiliated with the political party from two months to 22 days before the caucus. Lastly, any person who became 18 years old or who became a naturalized citizen during the 22 days prior to a precinct caucus may be a candidate for the office of precinct committee person despite having been affiliated with the party for less than 22 days.
