Senator Martinez Humenik introduced Senate Bill 18-229, concerning student teacher background checks.  The bill allows a student in a teacher preparation program to obtain a fingerprint based criminal background check from the Colorado Department of Education.  Senator Martinez Humenik distributed Amendments L.001, L.002, and L.003 (Attachments A, B, and C) and responded to questions from the committee.
