Senator Baumgardner, Prime Sponsor, discussed the provisions of Senate Bill 17-030 concerning an exemption for injectable steroids for cattle and distributed Amendment L.001 (Attachment A). Under the Colorado Uniform Controlled Substances Act of 2013, anabolic steroids which have been approved by the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services may be administered through implants to cattle or other nonhuman species. This bill allows the administration of anabolic steroids to cattle or other nonhuman species through injections.
