Speaker Becker called the meeting to order. She outlined
a plan for when the legislative session would resume, which would include
having Legisaltive Council Staff and the Office of State Planning and Budgeting
present an updated economic forecast on May 12, 2020, and then resuming
the legislative session around May 18, 2020. She discussed the need
to maintain flexiblility with the identified dates.

Legal Services (OLLS), answered questions about how many days remain in

Staff, presented information regarding 2020 Interim Committees and activities.
She referenced a memorandum regarding the topic that was distributed
to the committee (Attachment C). The committee discussed drafting
legislation to suspend interim committees during the 2020 interim. Speaker
Becker stated that the Legislative Emergency Preparedness, Response, and
Recovery Committee should continue to meet during the 2020 legislative
interim. The committee directed OLLS to draft legislation to suspend
interim committee activies during the 2020 session. The committee
agreed to have the Majority and Minority Leaders be the prime co-sponsors
of the bill, with the Speaker and President as co-sponsors.

Mr. Hawes answered questions from the committee. Speaker Becker made comments regarding sending a letter to the U.S. Census Bureau concerning differential privacy. She referenced a draft letter on the topic (Attachment F).
