Rick Lee, Capitol Complex, Department of Personnel and Administration, updated the committee about funding to restore the collection of 20 old Governors' portraits. Ms. Jabrocki described the four additional portraits recently discovered in the State Archives.

Mr. Morrison and Mr. Pechota discussed the Long Bill appropriation to restore the 20 portraits, which becomes available July 1, 2018. Mr. Pechota recommended that the committee authorize spending the appropriation for restoration.

Mr. Damion Pechota, Legislative Council Staff, discussed public access to the Creative Capitol rotating art exhibit. He explained that art pieces that had been located in the committee rooms in the Legislative Services Building would be moved to the Capitol building.

Representative Lontine discussed the types of artwork that have been placed in the Legislative Services Building. Mr. Pechota explained that pieces from Colorado Creative Industries' permanent collection would be displayed in the committee rooms, rather than pieces from the rotating exhibit.

Ms. Erika Osterberg, Visitor Services, Legislative Council Staff, told the committee about a new exhibit at Denver International Airport featuring pieces from the Capitol's collection. Committee members received a handout about the exhibit [Attachment A].

Ms. Effie Ameen, Secretary of the Senate, discussed efforts to restore the Old Supreme Court Chambers on the second floor of the Capitol. She described various aspects of the project.
