Representative Ginal and Representative Lontine, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 16-1160. The bill continues the regulation of surgical assistants and surgical technologists until September 1, 2021. These health professions are regulated by the Division of Professions and Occupations in the Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA). The committee heard the 2015 Sunset Review: Surgical Assistant and Surgical Technologist Registration Program report (Attachment A) on January 19, 2016. The bill sponsors provided a handout (Attachment B) to the committee.
