HOUSE COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK, & NATURAL RESOURCES

Votes: View--> Action Taken:
Refer House Bill 17-1257 to the Committee of the W PASS

06:49 PM -- HB 17-1257

Representative Arndt, sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1257, concerning the scheduled repeal of reports by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to the General Assembly. Representative Arndt responded to questions from the committee regarding the bill. Under current law, whenever Executive Branch agencies or the Judicial Branch are required to make a report on a periodic basis to the General Assembly, the reporting requirement expires three years after the first report was due, unless the General Assembly continues the requirement. The bill, recommended by the Statutory Revision Committee, continues indefinitely those reporting requirements.

06:54 PM --
Doug Vilsak, DNR, stated that the department is neutral on the bill but is available for questions. Mr. Vilsak responded to questions about various reports in the bill.
