The Conference Committee on Senate Bill 19-106 commenced, and a quorum was present.  Committee discussion ensued regarding amendments previously adopted to the bill.  Senator Cooke introduced a compromise to reduce the threshold from 65% of eligible voters to 55%.  All committee members agreed to the compromise.

Senator Zenzinger described an anticipated, conforming amendment, and explained that the Senate would first need to give the committee permission to go beyond the scope of the bill.  Committee discussion ensued.

The effective date for bills enacted without a safety clause is August 7, 2024, if the General Assembly adjourns sine die on May 8, 2024, unless otherwise specified. Details
