bill sponsor, introduced Senate Bill 22-038. Current law prohibits hospitals
from including the Healthcare Affordability and Sustainability Fee as a
separate line item in its billing statements. The bill removes this restriction
and allows hospitals to show the total amount of the fee as a separate
line item on patient billing statements.
