Ms. Berman explained the suggested change to the statutory requirement to notify bill sponsors concerning rule making.

Representative Weissman stated his concerns about repealing the notice requirement.

Senator Gardner stated his view on the notices and whether the members of the General Assembly find them useful.

Representative Van Winkle asked how much staff time it takes, and Ms. Berman responded.

Representative Herod suggested narrowing the list to relevant bills and having fewer people receive the notice, and also suggested speaking with all members of the General Assembly about the proposal. Representative Weissman responded. Representative Herod requested that Committee members consult with their colleagues and that the issue be included on the next meeting agenda for further discussion.
