Jill Hunsaker Ryan,
Executive Director, CDPHE; Dr. Ned Calonge, Chief Medical Officer, CDPHE;
Scott Bookman, Senior Director of Public Health Readiness and Response,
CDPHE; and Erick Scheminske, Chief Operating Officer, CDPHE, presented
to the committee.




Dr. Calonge discussed
the savings to Coloradans due to prevention services.

Mr. Bookman discussed the departments efforts to reduce incidences of Syphilis
in Colorado.




Ms. Hunsaker Ryan
provided an update on the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, including
grants provided to community-based gun violence prevention initiatives,
a statewide campaign to raise awareness, and the department's legislative
agenda. Ms. Hunsaker Ryan discussed the departments intent to maintain
and grow water permit programs, health care licensure programs and environmental
justice programs. Ms. Hunsaker Ryan provided an agency budget request breakdown.




Dr. Calonge continued
the budget request breakdown, specifically the request regarding quality
congregate care.




Ms. Hunsaker Ryan
reviewed the department's efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion.




Mr. Scheminske
reviewed how the department is using federal stimulus funds.
