Relocate Dead Human Bodies Title 12 Recodification

Concerning the nonsubstantive relocation of laws related to the treatment of human bodies after death from title 12, Colorado Revised Statutes, as part of the organizational recodification of title 12.

Bill Summary

Committee on Legal Services. Current law directs the office of legislative legal services to study the organizational recodification of title 12 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, which relates to professions and occupations. To implement the initial recommendations of the study:

  • Section 1 of the bill relocates parts 1 and 2 of article 34 of title 12 of the Colorado Revised Statutes related to anatomical gift and unclaimed human bodies to new parts 2 and 3 of article 19 of title 15, Colorado Revised Statutes;
  • Sections 2 through 20 of the bill make conforming amendments; and
  • Section 21 repeals article 34 of title 12, Colorado Revised Statutes.
