HB16-1069

Allow City To Set Housing Authority Commission Term Length

Concerning the ability of a city's governing body to determine the length of terms for its housing authority commissioners.
Session:
2016 Regular Session
Subject:
Local Government
Bill Summary

Previously, for those housing authorities not comprised exclusively of members of the city's governing body who are serving ex officio, housing authority commissioner terms were 5 years in length. The act allows the governing body to pass a resolution setting the length of commissioner terms; except that such terms shall not exceed 5 years. If the governing body does not pass such a resolution, the statutory term length of 5 years continues to apply.
