Senator Priola introduced Senate Bill 17-130, concerning alignment of the number of hours of practical experience required to register as a sprinkler fitter with the number of hours of practical experience required to become licensed as a journeyman plumber. The bill reduces the number of practical work experience hours required to become a registered sprinkler fitter with the Division of Fire Prevention and Control in the Department of Public Safety to a level similar to what is required for a journeyman plumber, from 8,000 hours to 6,800 hours. Senator Priola responded to questions from the committee.
