Senator Rankin introduced Senate Bill 20-099. The bill changes the dollar threshold for economic nexus for purposes of retail sales made by retailers without physical presence in the state from $100,000 to $200,000. He discussed potential amendments to the bill and responded to questions from the committee.

Senator Rankin gave concluding remarks regarding the bill.  Esther van Mourik, Office of Legislative Legal Services, came to the table to respond to committee questions.   She referenced House Bill 20-1022 which continues the Sales and Use Tax Simplification Task Force.  The committee discussed whether the Senate Finance Committee should send a letter to the task force asking it to examine the issues raised by SB 20-099.
