Conf 18-Fire And Police Pension Association Board Of Directors - Favorably Refer to Full Senate

Dan Slack, Executive Director of the Fire and Police Pension Association, introduced appointees to the board Suzanne Morgan and Karen Frame.

Committee members received a packet of information about the appointees, including their appointment letters [Attachment A]. Karen Frame introduced herself and discussed her background in investment management and regulatory compliance for large retirement benefit plans.

Senator Kerr, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 18-004 to the committee. The bill requires additional funding for full-day kindergarten and refers a measure to voters allowing the state to retain and spend revenue above the constitutionally allowed limit. Senator Kerr distributed amendment L.001 [Attachment B] and explained that the amendment updates future appropriation estimates in the bill.

Senator Zenzinger, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 18-006 to the committee. The bill allows but does not require that county clerks collect a surcharge on document filing fees to fund an attainable housing program.  Senator Zenzinger provided amendment L.001 [Attachment E] and explained that it clarifies that money raised in a county under the bill would go back to that county.
