The bill removes the requirement that the State Board of Health approve retention of counsel when either the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) or any county or district board of health become involved in a legal action.

SB19-044 - Referred to the Committee of the Whole - Consent Calendar

Senator Zenzinger, bill sponsor, presented Senate Bill 18-044. The bill repeals obsolete statutory language related to the deadline for the creation of the statewide emergency medical and trauma care system by the State Board of Health.  It also removes the requirement for the board to cooperate with the Department of Personnel and Administration in adopting criteria related to communication systems referenced by counties in regional emergency medical and trauma system plans.

The bill clarifies statutory language allowing members of the Radiation Advisory Committee in CDPHE to be compensated for their actual and necessary expenses and corrects a reference in statute where the committee is referred to as "the board."  Senator Moreno responded to questions.
