Ms. Jean Billingsley, Legislative Council Staff, discussed House Bill 17-1361. House Bill 17-1361 requires the state auditor to retain an independent consulting firm to evaluate the state's information technology resources. She noted that Legislative Council staff recommends that the Office of the State Auditor include and consider input from Joint Technology Committee staff in the process for selecting the independent third-party consulting firm. Committee members discussed the purpose of the audit and noted the interconnection of state technology services.
