Curtis Heaton, Director of Fire and Aviation Management, US Forest Service (USFS), US Department of Agriculture, presented on the role of the USFS in wildfire mitigation and firefighting. He discussed a fuel break that effectively defended communities during the Buffalo Mountain Fire.
