Dr. Scott Siegfried, Superintendent of the Cherry Creek School District, spoke about the recent changes to the district's start times. He discussed the importance of focusing on what is best for students before examining transportation and athletics logistics.  Dr. Siegfried also spoke about the importance of outreach to students, teachers, and parents.

Will Pierce, Chief Academic Officer for School District 27J, told the committee about the district's recent changes to school start times.  He provided a handout to the committee members [Attachment D].  Mr. Pierce spoke on the importance of collecting survey data, as well as working with transportation, facilities, and extracurricular activities in determining whether and how to adjust school start times.

committee on the implementation of a four-day school week and the impact
of school start times on students and teachers.
