Senator Winter, bill sponsor, presented House Bill 22-1210, concerning the continuation of the domestic violence offender management board, and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendations contained in the 2021 sunset report by the Department of Regulatory Agencies and making an appropriation. 

Amelia Lobo, representing Violence Free Colorado, testified in support of the bill.

Senator Winter made closing remarks.

Senators Rodriguez and Hinrichsen, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 22-1234, concerning establishing a preventing identity-based violence grant program, and in connection therewith, making an appropriation.   The bill sponsors discussed identity-based crimes

 

 

Melanie Pearlman, representing The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab, testified in support of the bill. She answered questions from the committee about model programs,  extremist groups, and identification.

Director - Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Kevin Klein, representing Colorado Department of Public Safety, testified in support of the bill. He discussed collaboration opportunities, among other things.
