Senator Crowder presented House Bill 18-1242, which changes the salary categorization of Grand, Rio Grande, Saguache, and Jackson counties and increases the salaries of elected county officials in these counties on an ongoing basis. Senator Crowder distributed Amendment L.001 [Attachment A], a packet of letters in support of the bill [Attachment B], and a fact sheet about the bill from Colorado Counties, Inc. [Attachment C]. Senator Crowder responded to committee questions.

Eric Bergman, representing Colorado Counties, Inc., testified in support of the bill.  Mr. Bergman responded to committee questions.

Senator Crowder explained Amendment L.001 and provided closing comments on the bill.

Senator Coram presented House Bill 18-1146, which continues the issuance of licenses and certificates related to measurement standards in the Department of Agriculture, which is scheduled to repeal on July 1, 2018.

Hullis Glenn, representing the Colorado Department of Agriculture, testified in support of the bill.

Mr. Glenn and Senator Coram responded to committee questions.  The committee recessed.

The committee returned to order.  Jennifer Berman, Office of Legislative Legal Services, came to the table to respond to committee questions.

The bill was laid over for action at the end of the meeting.

Senator Smallwood presented House Bill 18-1254, which modifies aspects of the foreclosure process.

Karla Bagley, representing the Public Trustees Association of Colorado, testified in support of the bill.

John Davies, representing the Denver Public Trustee Office, testified in support of the bill.
