Senator Todd invited the appointee to the
position of Executive Director of the Department of Higher Education and
Colorado Commission on Higher Educaiton to the table.  Lisa Kaufman,
Chief of Staff to Governor Polis, came to the table and introduced the
appointee, Angela Paccione.  Copies of the Governor's appointment
letter can be found as Attachment A.  Dr. Paccione  introduced
herself and spoke about her background and about why she would like to
be confirmed to the position.  Dr. Paccione answered questions from
the committee.

Motion Refer the appointment of Angela Paccione as the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education to the full Senate with a favorable recommendation and with a recommendation that it be placed on the consent calendar.

The committee came back to order.  Senator Zenzinger and Senator Story, co-sponsors, presented Senate Bill 18-039 which concerns allowing interdistrict transportation of students only by adjacent school districts subject to the school districts' mutual consent.  Senator Zenzinger explained the purpose of the bill.
