Senators Holbert and Todd, co-sponsors,
presented Senate Bill 18-101 which concerns student admission to Colorado
State University-Global Campus (CSU-Global).  Senator Holbert provided
background information about CSU-Global and explained the purpose of the
bill.  Senator Todd provided comments about CSU-Global.

Becky Takeda-Tinker, President of CSU-Global,
spoke in support of the bill.  She distributed a handout with information
about the school [Attachment A].  Dr. Takeda-Tinker talked about the
school's history, successes, affordability, student demographics, and innovative
education programs.  She spoke about the importance of enabling freshman
students in Colorado to access CSU-Global programs.

Guntis Dredzels, representing himself as a student at CSU-Global, spoke in support of the bill. He spoke about his experiences with the program. He answered questions from the committee.

to work in rural areas.

for Rural Education at the University of Northern Colorado, spoke in support
