Senator Hill, chair, called the meeting to order. He invited Dick Kaufman, board of trustee for Fort Lewis College, to come to the table to introduce the appointee to the board, Dianna Pacheco-Van Vorhees. Copies of the Governor's appointment letter and the appointee's application and resume were distributed to the committee (Attachment A). Ms. Pacheco-Van Vorhees told the committee about her personal and professional background, and about why she would like to be appointed to the board. Ms. Pacheco-Van Vorhees answered questions from the committee.

01:44 PM -- Confirmation of Western State Colorado University Board Of Trustees



Senator Hill invited Greg Salsbury, President of Western State Colorado University, to come to the table to introduce the appointee and reappointee to the board of trustees: Keith Kennedy and Nancy Chisholm. Copies of the Governor's appointment letter and the appointees' applications and resumes were distributed to the committee (Attachment B). Ms. Chisholm talked about her personal background and some of the school's recent changes and successes. Mr. Kennedy talked about his personal and professional background, his history with the school, and why he would like to be appointed to the board. The appointee and reappointee answered questions from the committee.

Senators Neville and Kerr, co-sponsors, presented House Bill 17-180 which concerns requirements for the tuition assistance program for students enrolled in career and technical education certificate programs. The co-sponsors explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.
