Presentation on Interim Workplace Harassment Policy - Approve Exhibit 1 of the 2018 Report to the Executive Committee

Ben FitzSimons, Legislative Human Resources Administrator,
presented Exhibit 1 of the Legislative Workplace Interim Study Committee
2018 Report to the Executive Committee of the Legislative Council, which
can be found at

 He discussed the differences between the existing Workplace Harassment
Policy of the General Assembly and the proposed Interim Workplace Harassment
Policy of the General Assembly.  Mr. FitzSimons highlighted the changes
on pages 27 through 34 of Exhibit 1, regarding the role of the legislative
human resources administrator, providing accomodations to a complainant
or respondent, using the preponderance of the evidence standard when making
a final determination, prohibiting retaliation, the rights and responsibilities
of a complainant and respondent, and timelines for the resolution process.
