Mr. Broderick discussed the Arkansas Valley Conduit (AVC), which was authorized by Congress as part of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project in 1962. In 2009, Congress amended the original plan to include a cost-sharing plan with 65 percent federal and 35 percent local funding. Mr. Broderick discussed the timeline for the AVC, stating that it is estimated that it would take 10 years to build the conduit around the city of Pueblo.
