Reps. Hooton and Thurlow introduced Senate Bill 18-102. Under current law, when a motor vehicle is being titled or registered, the verification of a motor vehicle's identification number (VIN) requires an odometer reading. The bill repeals the requirement for an odometer reading during VIN verification.

Reps. Herod and Ransom introduced Senate Bill 18-073. The bill directs the Department of Revenue to implement a program that allows the owner of a motor vehicle to report the transfer of ownership of the motor vehicle when it is transferred to another person, beginning January 1, 2019. Reps. Ransom and Herod answered several committee questions.
