Representative Lebsock, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 16-1396, concerning changing outdated references to aliens in the Colorado Revised Statutes with respect to Colorado programs. Representative Lebsock explained the effect of the bill and discussed its need. Representative Lebsock responded to questions regarding the effect of the bill on substantive law, and the potential for language stricken by the bill to find its way into statute in the future. Representative Lebsock responded to further questions regarding the impact of the bill on language used in federal law, and the process by which language is used in future legislation.
