Representative Ransom, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1093, which increases the exemption for the cash surrender value of a life insurance policy from $100,000 to $250,000. Representative Ransom responded to questions from the committee. Committee members received a list of state laws related to the cash surrender value of life insurance policies (Attachment A).

Representative Foote, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1136, which makes changes to the statutory requirements to file certain taxes and remit certain payments via electronic transfer to the Department of Revenue (DOR). The bill makes this language permissive, removing the statutory requirement and authorizing DOR to require electronic filing and funds transfer in rule instead.
