Senator Hill, chair, called the meeting to order. Representative Hamner gave opening remarks about the importance of discussing school finance with all joint education committee members and joint budget committee members, and distributed a handout (Attachment A).

11:14 AM -- Joint Education and Joint Budget Committee meeting regarding the future of School Finance
Representative Hamner introduced the presenter, Dr. Marguerite Roza, Director of Edunomics Lab at Georgetown University. Dr. Roza discussed productivity in public education, spending, outcomes, and Return on Investment. Copies of her power point presentation are included as Attachment B.

Dr. Roza answered questions from the committee members. Committee discussion ensued.
