The bill creates the Colorado Commodity Supplemental Food Grant Program to provide grants to county departments of human services, food banks, and food pantries for purchasing and distributing food packages to low-income older adults. The bill requires the General Assembly to appropriate $1 million annually from the General Fund to the Department of Human Services (CDHS) for the program, starting in FY 2023-24. CDHS will administer and establish rules for the program’s implementation.
