The Joint Select Committee on Rising Utility Rates was formed during the 2023 regular Legislative Session to investigate the root cause of the recent increases in utility rates facing Coloradans and consider potential policy interventions. The select committee will hear testimony and presentations from expert witnesses from utility companies, relevant agencies, regulators, consumer advocates, and policy experts to better understand the current situation, how we got here, and possible policy interventions the legislature should consider to prevent future unexpected, steep utility rate increases. The committee will meet at least three times during the first regular session of the 74th General Assembly. Invitation for Public CommentThe Joint Select Committee on Rising Utility Rates welcomes your comments on how the recent utility rate increases have impacted you.
